The newly developed register control by eltromat provides a maximum of automation. Material waste can be significantly reduced and set-up time saved thus improving the efficiency of your printing press. A new hardware architecture, enabling the integration of additional functions was especially developed for the regi_star 20, thus offering maximum flexibility.
On this basis a unique and intelligent combination of register control and web inspection was created. Preparation time and material waste during start-up are reduced to an absolute minimum.
Operation
A modern operating interface with a touch_screen is provided for an individual and efficient operation of the register control. The clearly structured HMI offers ease of operation for the operator. The touch_screen can be used to directly access the register adjustment of each control unit. Additionally, the membrane keyboard known from other eltromat systems is still available as an option.
Field of application
The regi_star 20 offers a wide range of new fields of application. The components of the system are either installed locally or centrally in a separate system housing. For example, the display and operation unit may be integrated into the control centre, whereas all other components can be installed in a separate control cabinet. The operators of the machine are able to monitor and control the production process in an ideal and comfortable manner.
Adaptive RGB register mark sensor
The adaptive register mark sensor of the regi_star 20 was designed to detect colours that are extremely low in contrast, metallic colours, as well as transparent lacquers. The adaptive RGB colour sensor analyses the colour spectrum of the light which is reflected from the web to automatically determine a reliable scanning of all register marks. Due to the great depth of focus of the fibre optic there is no need to change the signal strength or scanning angle. Thus the register mark scanning does not require any manual intervention by the operator.
The automatic and optimized scanning process of the regi_star 20 sensor supports the patented eltromat single-head measurement method. This unique technology offers the choice of sequential control for a quick production start-up as well as key colour control for top production quality.
Material waste and costs can be reduced to a minimum thanks to the process-oriented automatic switching between sequential and key colour control. The different measurement and control methods which can be combined individually, are another big plus.
